How To Fix Common Windows Driver Problems

Drivers are fundamental software for correct operation of devices connected to a computer. For example, for your smartphone or webcam to communicate with Windows, they must have their programs installed on such a system. So if you noticed that your peripheral has stopped working normally or any other type of errors like Video Scheduler Internal Error On Windows and more, follow the tips to find out how to fix the most common problems in this type of application.

Driver Update via Windows Update

he first action that can be taken by a user who notices some kind of problem with their peripheral, is accessing the Windows "Device Manager". In it, you can check the current status of your respective driver. To perform this task, perform the following steps:

Step 1. If you are using Windows 7, 8 or 10, click the "Start" button on the system. In the "Search programs and files" text box, type "Device Manager," and click on the first result found.

Step 2. In the "Device Manager" you will be presented with a list of all the peripherals and hardware installed in your computer. Look for the one who is presenting the problem, and click on it. In the example of this article, a webcam was used that is not being recognized by the system.

Step 3. In the window that appears, click the "Update Driver ..." button, present in the "General" tab. Then, let Windows look in your repository for the version of the program that is most appropriate for your device.

Optionally, if your device is USB type, you can also try connecting it to another port. If the driver is not installed, the Microsoft operating system will try to find the correct version for it. If the above options still do not resolve the problem, proceed as in the following section.

Microsoft Fix it

Another fairly simple way to diagnose and attempt to troubleshoot problems with drivers is to use the Microsoft Fix It. Such software is a complete troubleshooting center for Windows. Learn how to do this in the steps below

Step 1. If you do not have this application, download it from here.

Step 2. When running the program, go to the item "Hardware and Devices" and click "Run".

Step 3. On the next screen, choose "Detect problems and apply fixes". At this point, the software will try to find possible hardware errors.

Step 4. After finishing the diagnosis, a new screen will present the problem drivers. To proceed with the attempt to fix, click "Apply this fix".

Reinstalling the driver via the manufacturer's website or CD

If the above tips are not able to resolve your setback, you can then reinstall the driver that came with the device CD. If you no longer have such media, you will have to access the manufacturer's website and look for - usually in the support session - the most current version of the program.
